MAYDAY, XBOX DYING

today I was playing republic commando on my old xbox when the power suddenly cut off and I heard sparks but a minute earlier I started smelling smoke and when I tried to turn it on all it did was beep really loud HELP TELL ME WHATS GOIN ON

I think it's a sign that you played to much, so you should go watch tv, and get the xbox elite you can still play games from the old one XD

actually it started the sparking sounds a few months ago after it had just been gathering dust for a year since I was using my 360 so I don't think I overused it to death plus I can still get it to turn on I'm just not sure for how long

I know the problem. A long while ago there was a call back on some of the power cords for the Xbox. It was feeding to much power to the Xbox and it doesn't know what to do with it, so it limits the amount that begin to spark and it's a very good option for house fires.

Hence all the 360s have that huge Power supply that regulates the power flow. Make the house fire process slower.

Solution, ah.. there isn't play it could work whenever it wants or it can start a fired whenever it wants. Just be sure to remove the cable when you aren't playing it.
